BSB: Double podium delight for Honda's Linfoot

Dan Linfoot was delighted to take a career first double British Superbike podium at Knockhill this weekend, finishing second and third in Sunday’s two races.

After a significant step forward with his Honda Racing team, Linfoot didn’t just land podium results but also fought for the lead in both of the races, showing the eight-year-old ‘blade still has what it takes to run at the front in BSB in both wet and dry conditions.

Having come agonisingly close to victory twice this season, Linfoot now turns his attention to finally clinching that elusive victory as he looks to claw back the nine points needed to make his way into the all-important top six showdown spots.

“I am happy with how this weekend has gone and to get my first podium of 2016 in race one in second place was great and then to get my first double BSB podium with race two is even better,” he said.Yes of course in racing you always want to win and today again we were so close.

“I felt quietly confident after this morning’s warm up and in the past we’ve seemed to be quite steady on a Friday, so I pulled my finger out this round and made sure we had two good practice sessions. A huge thanks to my crew, they made a change to the CBR last night and have worked so hard all weekend to give me the package I had today in both races.

“I’m so happy with the Fireblade and it worked so well in both the wet and dry conditions, and goes to show that it still has the pace to keep us in the mix. I really enjoyed both races and want to keep this momentum now for the rest of the season and hope I can take my first BSB race win soon.”
