BSB: Mossey out to fight for title with team-mate Haslam

One of the most promising young talents in the series, young gun Luke Mossey has his eyes set on fighting for the MCE British Superbike title in 2017 as he remains with the Bournemouth team.

After securing a place in the top six Showdown this year, Mossey believes the next step for him is to challenge with new team-mate Leon Haslam to win his first BSB crown.

“It’ll be my third year with Bournemouth next year and we’re going in off the back of a really good season,” he said. “The aim for us is to fight for the title. In year one we fought for the Rider’s Cup and this year our aim was to make the top six, and we did both of those so the next step is to be fighting at the front.

“The first stage of that is to aim for my first win, which is something we wanted to achieve this year but for one reason or another it didn’t happen. BSB is so hard and competigive now, everything needs to be in the right place at the right time. Unfortunately, we didn’t do it but I’m hoping next year we’ll have plenty of opportunities.”

The 24-year-old is excited by the prospect of having Haslam in the garage with him next year, and is hoping he can learn from having a more experienced team-mate.

“It’ll be nice to have Leon the other side of the garage, hopefully we can get some good feedback from each other, especially in testing.”
