BSB: Giugliano ruled out of FP2 after crash

Davide Giugliano will sit out of this afternoon’s second MCE British Superbike free practice session at Brands Hatch after a heavy fall in the morning’s opening session.

The Tyco BMW rider tucked the front into Graham Hill bend half way through first free practice, following his bike into the hay bales.

Reported to be on his feet and walking, the Italian was taken to the medical centre for assessment and while it’s thought nothing is broken, he’ll sit out of the afternoon session and undergo a further medical examination ahead of FP3 tomorrow before it’s decided whether he’ll continue in the remainder of the weekend.

His S1000RR took quite the battering in the impact with the front end almost entirely ripped off.

The crash adds further to an already troublesome weekend for Giugliano, who was 17th quickest in yesterday’s official test and ended FP1 19th after the crash.
