BSB: Shakey storms to pole as Haslam crashes out
Shane Byrne stormed to pole position for this afternoon’s opening MCE British Superbike race with the quickest ever lap of the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.
Byrne’s time of 1’24.163 is some 0.451 seconds faster than his own outright lap record set at Brands earlier in July.
The Be Wiser Ducati star was 0.544sec ahead of Josh Brookes, who clinched second on the grid in the dying moments of the final qualifying session which was momentarily interrupted after a crash for John Hopkins at Paddock Hill.
