BSB: Battle set to resume at Brands Hatch

1 of 1

The Bennetts British Superbike Championship rolls into Brands Hatch next weekend for the second round of the 2018 season.

Having stormed to a stunning double victory in the opening round, local ace Bradley Ray will be hoping to do the same as he takes to the track in front of his home fans.

However, with initial weather forecasts looking much more favourable than Donington, there will be an array of riders out to halt the young gun’s charge – no doubt led by reigning champion and another circuit local, Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne.

2017 saw JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s Luke Mossey take his debut double at the 1.2-mile Indy circuit and having re-found his mojo for the start of this season, he’ll be keen to capitalise on one of his strongest tracks.

James Ellison, who set the outright lap record of the Brands Indy circuit on his way to pole position last year, will be keen to return to the sharp end on the Anvil Hire TAG Yamaha after a positive start to the season with a podium at Donington Park.

Christian Iddon and Leon Haslam finished on the podium at the Indy circuit last year. Donington proved to be a tough opening round for Iddon so he’ll be keen to bounce back on the Tyco BMW while Haslam will no doubt be up the sharp end once again as he returns to the venue that saw him dramatically miss out on the 2017 title just six months ago.

The Bennetts British Superbike Championship heads to Brands Hatch on 13-15 April. Find out how to book discounted advance tickets here: qoo.ly/nfrj5
