Ben Wilson will make his return to racing in 2019 riding for Gearlink Kawasaki in the British Supersport class. Wilson has not raced since he sustained serious injuries in a crash at the 2016 Nort West 200 road race.

“After the longest break I’ve ever had from motorcycle racing, it’s great to be returning and riding a Kawasaki,” said Wilson.

“I’ve waited until now to make a comeback because my leg has not been ready for me to run at the sharp end, but I know with a good testing program over the winter months I will be right where I need to be.”

And Wilson will hope to pick up where he left off, with race wins and podiums in the class previously. He was a very close runner up (by a single point) in the 2011 season, too.

Kawasaki Motors UK Senior Racing Coordinator, Ross Burridge is thrilled to see Wilson back in the team for 2019.

“[Ben’s] injury was horrendous and would see most people not come back to racing, but he has shown amazing willpower over the past couple of years to get back to where he is now,” said Burridge.

“He’s been on the Gearlink Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R already and is showing good pace, so I can’t wait to see him out on track at the first round next year.”
