BSB Iddon ruled out with broken collarbone

Christian Iddon’s hopes of securing a position in the 2018 Bennetts British Superbike Showdown are no more after a crash in qualifying has ruled him out of the remainder of the weekend’s action at Silverstone.

The Tyco BMW rider has been quick throughout the weekend, but dramatically crashed out at Luffield during Q2.

Thrown over the bars of his Tyco BMW, Iddon hit the ground hard. Up and walking, he was taken to the medical centre where it was discovered that he’d fractured his left collarbone and has subsequently been ruled unfit for the remainder of the weekend.

It marks a disappointing end to the weekend for the Derbyshireman, who came to Silverstone just 15 points off a spot in the all-important top six ahead of the Shwodown kicking off at Oulton Park next weekend.
