1 of 3

Bradley Ray has extended his championship lead after securing yet another comfortable Bennetts British Superbike Championship victory at Snetterton.

Ray led from start to finish and pulled away from the field with ease to cross the finish line with a lead of 3.789s. It’s Ray’s sixth victory from the opening seven races, equalling the feat last achieved by James Whitham in 1993.

The Raceways Racing Yamaha rider now has a 28-point lead over Kyle Ryde in the championship after the latter finished off the podium in fourth.

Ryde was all over the back of Rory Skinner heading into the final corner, but an attempted move on the Scot put Ryde at a disadvantage upon the corner exit and run down the long start/finish straight. This allowed Tommy Bridewell to pip Ryde to the line by 0.008s to complete the podium behind Skinner.

Leon Haslam completed the top five but was 8.002s behind the top four riders. Christian Iddon’s strong weekend in sixth, ahead of Josh Brookes, Charlie Nesbitt and Max Cook. Storm Stacey completed the top 10 after surviving a big scare at the beginning of the race.

Fraser Rogers came home in 11th ahead of Lee Jackson and Danny Kent, whilst John McPhee and Luke Hedger claimed the final two points available.

The third and final BSB race of the weekend at Snetterton is due to take place at 16:30.

Bradley Ray has become the first rider since Shane Byrne in 2014 to win five of the opening six races of a Bennetts British Superbike Championship season after dominating Race One at Snetterton.

Ray dominated from start to finish, setting a new race lap record on lap two (1:46.896) and then again on lap three (1:46.583). Left unchallenged, Ray was able to manage his pace in the hot conditions and crossed the finish line with an advantage of 5.380s.

Kyle Ryde was best of the rest in a lonely second place, with Tommy Bridewell securing his first podium of 2025 in third, albeit another 5.181s down the road.

Such was the gap between each rider in the top four, Leon Haslam crossed the line 8.287s behind Bridewell on his MotoRapido Racing Ducati. Haslam dug deep to fend off a late challenge from Christian Iddon, who celebrated his best result of the season in fifth.

Danny Kent and Max Cook got the better of Charlie Nesbit in the last couple of laps to finish sixth and seventh respectively, with Nesbitt crossing the line in eighth. Josh Brookes and Storm Stacey completed the top 10.

John McPhee, Fraser Rogers, Billy McConnell, Scott Swann and Jaime van Sikkelerus secured the final points available in the race.

Davey Todd retired with a mechanical issue at the end of the second lap. Lee Jackson and Andrew Irwin crashed out at Agostini on lap four whilst battling for 11th. Luke Hedger pulled off the circuit on lap five after receiving the black and orange flag due to smoke coming from the rear of his bike.

Rory Skinner retired from fourth place on lap 10 due to an issue with his Cheshire Mouldings Ducati V4 R.

Sunday’s races at Snetterton are scheduled to take place at 13:20 and 16:30.

Bradley Ray remains unbeaten in qualifying in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship this season after securing pole at Snetterton.

The Raceways Racing Yamaha rider made it look easy, finishing 0.550s clear of the field with a 1:46.570. That time came on Ray’s first flying lap, and he was able to return to garage and watch the rest of the session from the comfort of his chair.

Reigning champion Kyle Ryde was Ray’s closest challenger in second, with Rory Skinner completing the front row onboard his Cheshire Mouldings Ducati. Skinner opted to remain in the garage for the opening half of the session.

Tommy Bridewell secure a much-needed positive result in fourth, qualifying just ahead of Charlie Nesbitt and Leon Haslam.

Christian Iddon was the leading AJN Steelstock Kawasaki rider in seventh, with Danny Kent and Max Cook joining him on the third row.

Lee Jackson and Storm Stacey qualified 10th and 11th respectively ahead of Josh Brookes, with Fraser Rogers, Andrew Irwin and John McPhee completing the top 15.

Billy McConnell crashed at Coram in the closing stages of Q1 and it ended up costing the Aussie as Stacey stole third spot away from him to qualify for Q2. McConnell missed out by 0.44s and will start race one at Snetterton from 16th on the grid.

McConnell will be joined on the sixth row by Scott Swann and Luke Hedger, whilst Davey Todd heads row seven on the 8TEN Racing BMW. Richard Kerr, Jaime van Sikkelerus and Blaze Baker complete the grid. Baker crashed out of Q1 in the opening minutes at Coram.

Glenn Irwin was declared unfit for qualifying following a crash at Brundle during FP3. Following x-rays on his hip and right leg at the circuit medical centre where nothing was visible, the Hager PBM Ducati rider was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for further scans.

The opening race of the weekend at Snetterton is due to begin at 16:00.
