Yamaha has unveiled the new look YZR-M1 that world champion Valentino Rossi and team-mate Colin Edwards will be riding this year in MotoGP.

The pair travelled to Japan to reveal the bike with team boss Davide Brivio and the top brass from Yamaha.

The new bike has already been in testing and Rossi came away with the fastest lap from the last test at Phillip Island.

Team Director Davide Brivio, commented on the bike and the team’s year so far. “We’re very pleased with the look and design of the new bike, as well as with its performance so far during testing.

“This is going to be a very exciting season and a big challenge for both riders. After this we are flying directly to Phillip Island for our fourth test of the year and we hope to continue the good work we’ve been doing so far with the development of this new bike, with the aim of having it ready for the first race in a month’s time.”

As Brivio said, the team is now on route to test at Phillip Island in Australia and we will bring you full reports from the test, which takes place from March 9-11.
