Quiet end to Qatar test

Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards stayed on an extra day at the Qatar test to make the most of the empty track.

The two riders spent most of the session working with Michelin on tyre development and completed a long distance run in the afternoon to check the tyres over race distance.

Neither of the two riders managed to better their times from the previous days because only two bikes going round wasn’t enough to clear the desert dust of the track so there was nowhere near as much grip.

However both Rossi and Edwards were very happy with the improvements made to the bikes but Rossi did complain of bad vibrations that need to be sorted out.

Colin Edwards: “Overall I am really happy with this test and I am looking forward to the season ahead. I am especially pleased with the setting of the bike, which we seem to be improving all the time. My long run was not bad this afternoon and the encouraging thing was that my times were consistent, even later on as the tyres started to go off slightly in the heat.”

Colin Edwards 1:57.07
