Rossi ok but still in pain
Valentino Rossi fans, Yamaha, and the owners of Donington Park breathed a collective sigh of relief a few moments ago when the Italian was given the all-clear to ride later to today and for the rest of the Assen GP following a hospital check-up this morning. Click here to buy your bike Rossi crashed heavily in practice for the Dutch GP, and was taken to hospital for check-ups after saying he had chest pains and a sore hand.
BBC Radio 1 eagerly reported that he had broken his wrist, but a Dorna spokesman just revealed that Rossi is OK to ride, just bruised and beat up.
But it’s not all plain sailing. Rossi has chipped a bone in his right wrist, and dislocated a bone ‘near’ the right ankle, so although he will ride later it’s anyone’s guess yet how painful or possible it will be.
