Alex de Angelis is locked in negotiations with Honda and Ducati satellite teams with a MotoGP move in 2008 looking a certainty.

The San Marino rider flew to California for last month’s Laguna Seca MotoGP clash where his manager Carlo Pernat held further discussions with Honda boss Fausto Gresini and Ducati team manager Luis D’Antin.

The current factory Aprilia rider is desperate to quit 250s next season and join Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso in the premier class.

Ducati’s factory team manager Livio Suppo has confirmed to MCN the Bologna factory has interest Alex de Angelis joining its satellite squad run by Spaniard Luis D’Antin.

Carlo Pernat said: “There is interest in Alex and he wants to move to MotoGP.

“Gresini and D’Antin look like the best options and hopefully we will find out more before Brno.”

The world championship resumes next weekend with the Czech Republic MotoGP in Brno on August 19, 2007.
