Brno MotoGP: Ducati to run new fairing in Brno test

Ducati will run a new aerodynamics package during a test immediately after the Czech Republic MotoGP in Brno.

Marlboro Ducati team boss Livio Suppo has confirmed a new fairing will be available for MotoGP world championship leader Casey Stoner to test after successful wind tunnel simulations.

The new bodywork will be unveiled in response to Stoner’s long running request for a smaller aerodynamic package to cope in windy conditions.

Casey Stoner raised the issue after he finished second to title rival Valentino Rossi in gusty conditions at the Dutch MotoGP in Assen at the end of June.

He told MCN then he had first mentioned the wind issue during pre-season testing.

Ducati is keen to get Casey Stoner to evaluate the new bodywork as soon as possible with two circuits in the title run in – Phillip Island in Australia and Estoril in Portugal – notorious for windy conditions.

Casey Stoner returns to action next weekend looking to build on a commanding 44-point series lead he currently holds over closest rival Valentino Rossi.
