Hayden gets used to 800

MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden reckons he is finally getting accustomed to life on the new 800cc machines as he goes in search of recapturing his world title in 2007.

Hayden was a big fan of the powerful 990cc four-strokes and he’s so far struggled to make the switch to the smaller, less powerful and more nimble Honda RC212V 800.

The Repsol Honda rider said: “Actually I enjoyed it more recently in Sepang. I liked the power and you ask any of these guys and the 990 was fun at times but also this bike is fun because you can be so aggressive and carry the corner speed.”

“There’s parts I like about it but the 990 had a few things I like but that’s all old news so I can’t really think about that.”
