Dutch MotoGP: Andrea Dovizioso confirms 2008 MotoGP ambitions

World 250 championship challenger Andrea Dovizioso has confirmed his intention to move to MotoGP next season.

The Italian, who won last weekend’s rain-soaked British GP at Donington Park, said, “I want to be in MotoGP next year if possible. I want to ride with the very fast riders. This is my plan”

The former world 125 champion, who trails 250 GP series leader Jorge Lorenzo by 11-points after the Spaniards Donington crash, has long been linked with a premier class switch in 2008.

He has been rumoured to be looking at options with the Gresini and LCR Honda squads, both of which are run by Italian ex-world champions in Fausto Gresini and Lucio Cecchinello.
