Brno 125 free practice: Gabor Talmacsi takes provisional pole

Current 125cc champion Gabor Talmacsi has been fastest during the first qualifying  session at the Brno GP.

The reigning world champion put in fast laps from the beginning of the session, and was top ofthe pile when rain started to fall with 20 minutes of the session remaining.

When the rain started to fall the top five were; Gabor Talamcsi, Nicolas Terol, Bradley Smith, Marc Marquez and Andrea Iannone.

After the rain had lightened the riders returned to the circuit, nobody was able to take the top spot from Gabor Talmacsi, until Andrea Iannone, put in a fast lap with less than five minutes remaining.

Talmacsi responded to this immediately and put in several fast laps at the end of the session to cement his place at the top.

Britain’s Bradley Smith was bumped down to fourth as Mike Di Meglio put in a lap just 0.056 seconds slower than Talmacsi.

Fellow Britain’s Scott Redding and Danny Webb could not get to grips with the Czech circuit, and they could only manage 16th and 21st respectively.
