Britain’s Bradley Smith has been at the official Polaris World Aprilia team launch in London this morning in what he says is one of the biggest days of his life.

The Oxfordshire teenager, who has moved to the factory team for 2008, impressed at last week’s test in Jerez by topping the timesheets and now emerges as a real podium contender for the season.

Speaking to MCN’s Andy Downes at the launch, Bradley Smith said: “This is one of the biggest days of my life sat here in London.

“Pre season testing has been fantastic for us, I just can’t wait to get started.”

The 17-year-old flies out to Qatar tonight (Wednesday) for the start of the final testing session ahead of the start of the MotoGP season in just over a week’s time.

The MotoGP circus heads in to a new era with the first night race in Qatar on March 9, 2008 opening the season, but this isn’t likely to put 125GP rider Smith off his game.

“I’m Looking forward to the night race it will be different for everyone but the only concern for most people is going to be the night temperature as it can get really cold,” added Smith.

Motorcyclenews.com will be following Bradley Smith and we will bring you news of the test from the Losail Circuit throughout the three days and see more about his pre-season training in this week’s MCN (February 27, 2008).
