MotoGP: Loris Capirossi out of British GP

1 of 1

Italian veteran Loris Capirossi is definitely out of the British GP at Donington Park on June 22.

The factory Suzuki rider suffered a badly broken right hand in yesterday’s Catalunya GP after Gresini Honda rider Alex de Angelis wiped him out on lap 11.

The triple world champion is also a major doubt for the Dutch GP in Assen the weekend after Donington.

He is not expected to return to action until the Sachsenring race next month.

Capirossi was due to see a specialist in Monaco today after his 100mph crash, but MCN has learned that he has already told Rizla team boss Paul Denning that he will not ride in Donington Park.

Test and development rider Nobuatsu Aoki will replace Capirossi in the British clash and join Aussie Chris Vermeulen. Aoki is also on standby for Assen if Capirossi isn’t ready.
