Donington Park MotoGP: Rain gives Scott Redding front row start

1 of 1

125 Grand Prix rookie Scott Redding will start from the outside of the front row for tomorrow’s race after heavy rain meant yesterday’s first qualifying results stand.

Redding set a best time yesterday of 1.37.766, a fraction over a quarter of a second behind pole-sitter Simone Corsi.

Fellow Brits Bradley Smith and Danny Webb set the 12th and 14th fastest times of yesterday’s qualifying session respectively, and with all the times standing from the dry Friday qualifying will have to battle their way through in the opening laps to pull themselves into contention.

It was good news for Redding however, as the 15-year old could only manage the 19th fastest time in the wet qualifying session this afternoon, which was topped by KTM’s Rafael De Rosa.

Bradley Smith was ninth fastest in the wet, whilst Webb was slightly further down in 16th.
