James Haydon to replace injured Stuart Easton

James Haydon has been drafted in by the MSS Kawasaki British Superbike team to replace the injured Stuart Easton.

Easton crashed in qualifying at Snetterton in a horror 181mph spill.

As a result the Scotsman broke a wrist and will miss this weekend’s Mallory race and possibly Oulton Park in July.

With a seat to fill in the Kawasaki ZX10-R, Team Owner Nick Morgan has assigned the skills of former BSB front-runner James Haydon to fill the vacant spot.

Haydon was supposed to represent the Hawk Kawasaki team in 2008 but. with no title sponsor, the team only had the finances to run one rider and as a result Haydon got dropped.

MCN caught up with the current Eurosport pit lane commentator to get his reaction.

He said: This is just what I’ve been hoping for.

“I feel sorry for Stuart but I’ve been hoping to get a ride all season.

“It got to the stage when I thought nothing was going to happen, but I’ve stayed fit and focussed and I’m so chuffed I’ve got this opportunity.

“Now I’ve got to learn a new track and new tyres, but I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
