Ducati poised to renew Mika Kallio contract

Ducati has confirmed it will extend the contract of impressive rookie Mika Kallio for the 2010 MotoGP campaign.
The Finn has claimed four top ten finishes so far in his debut season and he was looking good for a career best top six in Assen back in late June when he crashed out on the last lap.
The Pramac Ducati rider though has impressed Ducati bosses and factory team chief Livio Suppo told MCN than an option to keep the former KTM 125 and 250GP rider will be exercised imminently.
There has also been recent speculation that Kallio could be given a seat next to 2007 world champion Casey Stoner in Ducati’s factory team in 2010, depending on the future of Nicky Hayden.
The American is expected to stay in the factory team next season and Suppo said: “We have an option with Mika and we will exercise it because he is doing a great job.”
