Brno MotoGP: Bradley Smith quickest in 125GP practice

1 of 1

Bradley Smith underlined his determination to forget a disastrous recent spell by clocking the fastest time in today’s 125GP practice session in Brno.
The Oxfordshire rider’s world championship prospects have nosedived after successive crashes in Sachsenring and Donington Park.
But the British teenager bounced back in superb fashion in the Czech Republic today, a best lap of 2.09.211 securing him top spot.
That left Smith, who trails Aspar Aprilia team-mate Julian Simon 55.5-points with seven races remaining, 0.113s clear of Marc Marquez. The Spaniard was still able to clock a best time of 2.09.324 despite a big high-side during the session.
Series leader Simon, who has won the last two races to open up a 50-point lead over Sergio Gadea, ended up third quickest with a best time of 2.09.409.
Fourth fastest was Nicolas Terol, with British GP podium finisher Scott Redding in 10th.
The Blusens Aprilia rider logged a best time of 2.10.401 to finish 1.190s adrift of Smith.
Danny Webb only completed a handful of laps as he was left languishing down in 33rd position.
