Mika Kallio opens talks with Tech 3 Yamaha

Mika Kallio has joined the increasing queue of MotoGP talent looking to secure a ride with the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team in 2010, MCN can reveal.
The Finn’s management held talks with Tech 3 boss Herve Poncharal during last weekend’s Czech Republic GP in Brno.
Kallio, who is currently racing in Ducati’s factory team as replacement for former world champion Casey Stoner, doesn’t have a deal in place for 2010.
It has been widely tipped that he will remain in the Pramac Ducati squad after an encouraging rookie campaign, but he’s now put himself in the Tech 3 frame with numerous others vying for a Yamaha YZR-M1 ride.
As well as current Tech 3 duo Colin Edwards and James Toseland being firmly in the frame, Randy de Puniet, Toni Elias and Chris Vermeulen have also been in talks with Poncharal.
Poncharal said: “I had an interesting discussion with Mika’s manager and I told him that I would add his name to the list.”
