The Day of Champions raised £177,000 for Riders for Health as the stars of MotoGP joined thousands of fans at Donington on Thursday.

This year’s Day of Champions – the last at Donington before the British GP moves to Silverstone next year – saw the highest number of advance tickets sales ever, the exclusive all-areas tickets were a sell-out and over 4,500 fans on the day ensured a fantastic atmosphere.

Riders for Health co-founder Randy Mamola told the crowd: “We are all in this sport together.

“All of the riders support us, but we couldn’t do this without the fans of MotoGP.

“I want to say thank you to the British crowd, it is you who make the work of Riders for Health possible.
