James Toseland unveils 2009 MotoGP colours

James Toseland’s Tech 3 Yamaha squad has unveiled its new livery for the 2009 MotoGP world championship at the Jerez circuit this morning.

Featuring a striking black, yellow and white colour scheme, Toseland and American team-mate Colin Edwards showed off their new Yamaha YZR-M1 machines during a special unveiling ceremony in the Tech 3 garage.

Herve Poncharal’s French-based team will be sponsored by Monster Energy drink in 2009 and the famous green ‘M’ claw is prominent on Toseland and Edwards’ bikes.

But while it might have been all smiles for the cameras, there is no denying the on-going tension between the double World Superbike champions.

This morning’s unveiling showed off the new dividing wall that will split Toseland and Edwards for the first time in public.

Revealed exclusively by MCN yesterday, the wall has been introduced at the request of Texan Edwards, who was incensed at the controversial winter crew chief switch.

Edwards lost 2008 crew chief Gary Reynders to Toseland and he’s now working with Guy Coulon.

The pair didn’t even glance at each other during this morning’s pitlane photo shoot.
