Donington appoints Wembley & O2 Arena whip-cracker

Donington has appointed the woman credited with turning around struggling building projects at Wembley stadium and the Millennium Dome to ensure the changes are completed in time for next July’s F1 grand prix.

Jayne McGivern will oversee contractor McAlpine as it attempts to turn the dowdy midlands circuit into a high-glamour (and higher-speed) F1 venue.

The revamped track will feature one of the longest straights in racing as well an up-to-date pit complex and clubhouse when complete.
