Bradley Smith reveals Moto2 crew chief

Bradley Smith has confirmed that Hiroshi Aoyama’s current Honda MotoGP chief engineer Tom Jojic will be his crew chief in the Tech 3 Moto2 squad in 2011.

Jojic has worked with 2009 world 250GP champion Aoyama in the Interwetten Honda squad this season, but the Swiss-based team has folded after just one season in the premier class having failed to secure enough budget to continue.

He has previously worked with Kenny Roberts Junior at Team Roberts and also had a stint as Olivier Jacque’s crew chief for Kawasaki’s testing squad.

Smith signed a deal with the French-based Tech 3 squad at last weekend’s Estoril Grand Prix in Portugal and will make his debut at Monday’s Valencia test, as was first reported by MCN.

The 19-year-old said: “It was important that I had somebody with a lot of experience.”
Former world 125 champion Mike di Meglio will partner Smith in the Tech 3 squad next season.
