Re-live classic MotoGP races on British Eurosport

MotoGP fans will be able to re-live some of the best races of the modern era in a special series of ‘Best Battles’ to be screened on British Eurosport during 2011.

British Eurosport will screen a classic race during its coverage of 12 of the 18 races on this year’s MotoGP calendar.

The channel will once again continue to show all 125GP and Moto2 races live, but in the hour-long delay before it broadcasts the MotoGP race, fans can indulge in a bit of nostalgia by watching a classic encounter from the past.

Each ‘Best Battle’ has been handpicked by British Eurosport’s popular commentary team of Julian Ryder and Toby Moody, who are returning for another stint behind the microphone in 2011.

The first classic race you can catch coincides with the start of the new MotoGP world championship campaign in Qatar on March.

Fittingly as Qatar will see Valentino Rossi make his hugely anticipated Ducati debut, the first ‘Best Battle’ is the 2004 South African MotoGP in Welkom.

Rossi claimed a fairytale debut win for Yamaha in that race after coming out on top in a pulsating battle with bitter rival Max Biaggi.
