Jerez MotoGP: Fenati takes first Moto3 win

Romani Fenati has won the Moto3 race at Jerez by over 30 seconds in only his second race in the Grand Prix paddock.

The young Italian stayed calm throughout the race in tricky conditions, with plenty of damp patches around the track which caught plenty of riders out.

Fenati now leads the championship with 45 points ahead of title favourite Maverick Vinales. Vinales finished sixth after running off track after only a few laps.

Spaniard Alex Rins stretched out a lead and looked odds on to take victory before crashing, allowing Fenati and Louis Rossi to overtake him. Rossi then took the lead, before he too crashed out of the race at turn one.

Fenati seized his chance to take the lead, before Rins again slipped off at turn one.

Both Brits failed to finish the race. Danny Kent high-sided at turn 10 on the first lap along with several other riders and Danny Webb retired with only a few laps to go.
