Factory Ducati MotoGP livery unveiled

This is the new factory Ducati GP12 1000cc machine that the Bologna factory hopes will catapult nine-times world champion Valentino Rossi back to winning ways in MotoGP in 2012.

This year’s new Desmosedici was unveiled in full livery minutes ago by Rossi and team-mate Nicky Hayden during a special launch on the Facebook page of Ducati sponsor TIM.

Ducati turned to a digital launch after it failed to show off the new GP12 during its lavish team launch at the spectacular Madonna di Campiglio ski resort in Italy in early January.

The bike wasn’t built in time for this year’s event with Ducati undertaking a radical revamp of the machine it hopes will help Rossl and Hayden bounce back from a disastrous 2011 campaign

The new bike will be seen in public for the first time during this weekend’s final pre-season test in Jerez, which kicks off on Friday ahead of the new 1000cc era getting underway in Qatar on April 8.

Of course, we’ll bring you full updates as they happen here on motorcyclenews.com
