LCR Honda thrilled with Stefan Bradl’s form
LCR Honda boss Lucio Cecchinello says he is thrilled with the form of MotoGP rookie Stefan Bradl after the German claimed his best result so far in 2012 during a rain-lashed French Grand Prix on Sunday.
Bradl was fifth in treacherous conditions and he hasn’t finished outside the top 10 yet in the opening four races after making a superb switch from the Moto2 world championship, which he won last season.
The LCR Honda squad endured a nightmare 2011 with Toni Elias struggling to achieve consistent top 10 finishes, but Bradl has transformed the team’s fortunes.
Cecchinello told MCN: “We are all very impressed with him and believe has a lot of potential. Considering that he is only 22 he is building his experience and we are looking to continue working with him.
"He has a big talent but he handles the pressure very well. We have had some tricky conditions this year but he is always calm and very concentrated without making big mistakes.”
Cecchinello said one of Bradl’s strengths is the quality of his technical feedback on the RC213V machine and he added: “We have been surprised how he interacts with the engineers. He is only 22 but his technical analysis is really impressive. He is very precise and he is very sensitive with the bike.”
