First pics: Danny Kent makes Moto2 debut in Valencia

Danny Kent didn’t have much time to reflect on his brilliant Moto3 success in Valencia yesterday after the British teenager made his debut on the Tech 3 Racing Moto2 machine this morning.

Kent took to the track in cool and windy conditions this morning for the start of preparations for the 2013 world championship campaign.

Kent ended his Moto3 career with the Red Bull KTM in brilliant style yesterday when he took a second victory in the last four races with a last corner victory over newly crowned world champion Sandro Cortese.

The Moto2 field will test for one day today before most teams move to the Albacete track later this week.

Tomorrow sees the start of a two-day MotoGP test, with most of the hype surrounding Valentino Rossi’s return to Yamaha’s factory squad.

Moto2 world champion Marc Marquez will make his factory Honda debut as Casey Stoner’s replacement and British interest will hone in on Bradley Smith, who will get his first ride on the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 YZR-M1 machine.

Triple BSB champion Shane Byrne will also be in action on the Paul Bird Motorsport Aprilia ART machine.

The test though could be a washout with rain forecast for tomorrow and Wednesday.
