Dovi growing in confidence

An exceptionally relaxed Andrea Dovizioso talked to the media about his chances this weekend and the Italian now has the confidence of a rider that knows the package underneath him will be competitive at most circuits in 2015.

“The confirmation in the race is very important for us and after we made this result your feeling and your confidence becomes more and more,” said Dovizioso. “One week after the race after that result is really important for the confidence. We knew before the bike was fast but you have to do in the race. We have had that important confirmation and we understand the small details where it is important to work in the race. I’m really optimistic and I hope we can have good weather because I really look forward to a dry race at this track.”

Braking stability is still an issue for Ducati, particularly with Dovizioso’s riding style, but the team has some new ideas on setup solutions and what they can do to improve his feeling in the early stages of braking.

“We have some ideas for set-up. We wanted to try in Qatar test. We couldn’t. During the race in Qatar we didn’t make an important job about that. Here there is strong braking so we can work on that. It’s important for me to work on that because it is important for my style. Also on the last lap with Valentino, I couldn’t fight with him at turn one. These are small things but important for the race.”
