MotoGP Argentina: Suzuki back on top!

1 of 1

Is Suzuki’s pace legitimate or was Aleix Espargaro able to take advantage of a low grip track surface that played to the strengths of the supple Suzuki? The answer is probably somewhere in the middle but one thing is for sure after the first day of practice in Argentina-Espargaro is riding beautifully this weekend.

He topped the times by over half a second and while it would be hugely surprising to see him stay at the front of the field tomorrow this was the first time since 2011 that Suzuki had topped a MotoGP session. Andrea Iannone and Marc Marquez were second and third fastest with Cal Crutchlow ending the day fourth fastest and looking competitive once again with the Englishman completing over 30 laps as he learns the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit.
