Fast times on Day 1 for Honda, 2016 bike for Day 2

A test for factory riders kicked off at Misano with the track getting an initial thumbs up from the the Honda riders riders after resurfacing work over the winter. With World Superbikes having already raced at the venue there was little reason to expect anything other than a positive reaction from riders with Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa both underneath lap record pace.

“Today was a positive day,” said Marquez. “We have been working to adapt the setting to the new tarmac, that is very good by the way, and also on checking some different things for the riding position on the bike. In the afternoon we focused more on the setup of the bike as this is a good circuit to work on the issue we have of sliding with the rear entering some corner. We found something good buttomorrow we have to continue working on this area as I’m still not 100% happy. We will also test the 2016 prototype HRC have brought here.”

That prototype was tested today by Hiro Aoyama and both Repsol Honda riders will get the chance to test it tomorrow before concentrating on Michelin testing on Friday.
