Navarro fastest in opening practice

Jorge Navarro was fastest in the opening Moto3 practice session of the weekend with Danny Kent a tenth of a second adrift after a spate of fast times late in the session saw the order change considerably.

Issac Vinales has been fast throughout but the Spaniard had to settle for the fourth fastest time having been piped by Efren Vazquez on the Leopard Racing rider’s penultimate lap of the morning. Brad Binder was sixth fastest with the South African  having a competitive session as he continues to adapt to life on the KTM.

John McPhee had his most competitive showing in some time with the Scotsman 12 fastest and just ahead of Romano Fenati. The Italian stopped at the end of the session on track and when marshals were removing his bike they were very lucky not to damage it further as it fell to the ground.
