Spanish media are reporting that reigning MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez has been involved in an altercation with Italian TV presenters from Le Iene (The Hyenas) outside his house in northern Spain that resulted in broken cameras, police intervention and apparent minor injuries for both the Italians and Marquez.

The presenters apparently intercepted Marquez as he returned home from his flat track and a scuffle broke out as family members attempted to prevent them from filming him and presenting him with a mock trophy.

During the scuffle, presenters Alessando Onnis and Stefano Corti claim that their cameras were broken and they were left injured, while Marquez was left with scrapes to his neck.

An official statement released by the 22 year old’s management team has promised that they will bring he full force of the law down upon the hosts of the satirical program.

“A group of people appeared at the rider’s home and shouted a series of insults, made certain ridiculous and humiliating actions towards the rider himself and even pushed and assaulted his closest relatives.

“Given the seriousness of these actions, such acts have been condemned and the normal course of criminal proceedings will be followed against such persons.”
