KTM have completed a successful multi-rider test of their RC250 Moto3 machine at Jerez, taking to the track alongside their new MotoGP machine for a two-day outing that saw a number of different riders on track.

Originally scheduled to utilise Team Sky VR46 rider Nicolo Bulega and Schedl GP Racing rider Philipp Öttl, Moto3 project leader Christian Korntner explained that plans were changed by the weather.

“Initially we had Nicolo Bulega and Philipp Öttl as test riders at Brno, but because of the limit on tests, Maria Herrera and her team joined Nicolo at Jerez this time. That proved to be a good choice.

“We also made a deal with Efren Vazquez and although he hadn’t ridden Moto3 bike for half a year and was injured also, he was able to give us very professional and perceptive feedback because of his many years experience.”

Focusing mainly on the 2017 specification machine rather than improvements to the current 2016 machine, the trio concentrated on chassis parts as well as trying out new engine components.
