Winner of the last two Grand Prix, Miguel Oliveira continued to lead the way in Moto2 as free practice got underway for the final race of the season.

The Red Bull KTM rider clocked a time of 1’35.847 to place 0.213 seconds ahead of Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider Alex Marquez in the opening session, with Brad Binder making it a 1-3 for the KTM squad with the third quickest time of the session.

Marcel Schrotter was fourth quickest on the Suter ahead of recently crowned champion Franco Morbidelli and Idemitsu Honda Team Asia’s Takaaki Nakagami.

Xavi Vierge was seventh quickest for Tech 3 ahead Isaac Vinales and leading Sky VR46 rider Francesco Bagnaia. Speed Up’s Augusto Fernandez rounded out the top ten.

Jake Dixon was 32nd out of 33 as he returns to the field in a wildcard appearance with the Dynavolt Intact GP squad. The BSB star tipped off in the closing moments of the session but was able to place ahead of countryman Tarran Mackenzie who returns to action with the Kiefer Racing squad this weekend after the outfit sat out the Malaysian Grand Prix after the shock death of team boss Stefan Kiefer.
