MotoGP: EG 0,0 and Marc VDS unveil 2018 livery

Spanish beer company Estrella Galicia and the Marc VDS Honda team have unveiled their 2018 liveries at an event at Madrid’s historic Jarama circuit, with MotoGP riders Tom Luthi and Franco Morbidelli joined by a host of talent from Moto2, Moto3 and beyond as the sponsor sets out their plans for domination of the Spanish and international racing scenes.

Unveiling a largely unchanged livery on their MotoGP machines, reigning Moto2 champion Morbidelli and the man he beat Luthi were joined by reigning and former Moto3 champions Joan Mir and Alex Marquez as they too pulled the covers off their Moto2 bikes.

But as the sponsor also revealed teams in four other classes (with the Team Estrella Galicia Moto3 and Junior Moto3 championship teams, their European Talent Cup squad and the Spanish Moto4 championship outfit all in attendance), they had a huge 14 riders at the event.

And, with such an incredible line-up of riders onboard, Marc VDS team boss Marc Van der Straten says they’re set to extend their winning streak even further in 2018.

“I think this project, which we entered into three years ago with Estrella Galicia 0,0 and Monlau Repsol Technical School, has proved incredibly successful. In 2017 we saw the project produce its first World Champion in Franco Morbidelli and now we embark together on a new season that promises to be equally as successful as the last.

“Franco moves up to MotoGP within our structure, with Tom Lüthi, the rider who pushed us so hard for the title last year, as his teammate. In Moto2 we have an incredibly strong line up with newcomer, and reigning Moto3 World Champion, Joan Mir paired with Alex Márquez, who will start as one of the favourites for the championship in his fourth season racing for the team. It promises to be a great season once again for our project and I’m looking forward now to the first race in Qatar.”
