Quartararo tops day two of Moto3

1 of 1

Fabio Quartararo has topped the second day of Moto3 action at Losail, taking provisional pole from Brad Binder in a session that saw a number of the front-runners falling.

The only session of the night, the Frenchman topped the day by 0.221 from the South African, with yesterday’s fastest man Livio Loi a further 0.090 behind him.

However, front-runners Nicolo Antonelli and Jorge Navarro were heavy fallers in the session, with early leader Antonelli taking the worst of the hits as he picked himself up holding a collarbone. The duo finished the day in 10th and 14th respectively.

It was also an unfortunate day for the UK’s only rider John McPhee. Already struggling after losing much of his winter testing to a bent chassis, a crash in the early stage of the session left him completing only eight laps and finishing back in 26th.

The next outing for the Moto3 class will be their qualifying session tomorrow.
