TT lap record holder John McGuinness has predicted this will be the fastest ever TT.

He said a 132mph lap should be possible if the weather stays fine for tomorrow’s superbike race.

Honda’s McGuinness set the lap record of 130.345mph in the 2007 Senior TT, in Wednesday’s practice John McGuinness recorded a lap of 130.171mph.

Tas Suzuki rider Cameron Donald has already blown that out the water blasting round the 37.73 mile circuit at 131.457mph last night.

McGuinness said: “It is all going to depend on whether everybody is still in the race on the last lap. That is the only flying lap, but I think we can get in the mid-132s. I know it’s a big statement, but we have seen what everybody has been doing in practice.

“It should make it interesting for the spectators, and that is what we are here for, to put on a show.”
