VIDEO: Ian Hutchinson's 27th Milestone crash

It had been a good TT for Ian Hutchinson ahead of Friday’s Senior race. He’d won the Superbike, dominated the Superstock and set the fastest lap of the week in qualifying ahead of the Senior TT.

Things were lining up well as the Senior got underway on Friday, the Tyco BMW star was scrapping with Peter Hickman for the lead on the opening lap. The race was shaping up to be a great with the duo separated by just hundredths of seconds half way around the second lap.

Then disaster struck when Hutchinson tucked the front at the 27th Milestone. The race was red flagged and Hutchinson taken to hospital by helicopter where he was diagnosed with a fractured left femur.
