Roads: Seeley joins Tyco BMW for North West 200

North West 200 king Alastair Seeley will remain with the Tyco BMW team for the 2018 event between May 13th – 19th.

Seeley, who is the most successful NW200 rider in history after taking 21 victories around the Triangle course, will campaign a Tyco-livered S1000RR in both the Superbike and Superstock classes in what will mark a seventh season with the Moneymore squad.

“I am more motivated than ever for this year because I want to get back on the top step of the podium in the feature superbike race,” said Seeley, who was narrowly beaten by Be Wiser Ducati’s Glenn Irwin in the main race last year.

“Every race is important and I want to win every race I start but it would be nice to get a win in the big one again.”

“It won’t be easy because there are so many riders racing at the North West now who compete in British championship and that means they are coming to Portrush sharp, fit and with good race craft.

“But I am training hard and working with the Tyco BMW team again means that very little has to change. They know what works for me and we have won a lot of races together.”

Team boss Philip Neill added: “Alastair is part of the TAS Racing family at the North West 200 and a huge part of our success story at the event.

“He is part of the furniture in the best possible way and had a phenomenal run of success at the 2017 North West 200 and it is great to have him back again with Tyco BMW for 2018.”
