Isle of Man TT 2025: Ryan and Callum Crowe win opening Sidecar race after breaking lap record

Ryan and Callum Crowe were victorious in the opening Sidecar race at the 2025 Isle of Man TT on Monday afternoon after setting a new lap record.

The pairing dominated the shortened race (three laps to two) onboard their Opul/Kelproperties LCR Honda, posting the record-breaking 121.021mph lap to beat Ben Birchall and Patrick Rosney by 1 minute and 17 seconds.

By the time they reached Glen Helen on the opening lap, Ryan and Callum Crowe led by 11.3 seconds over Birchall/Rosney, with the latter just 0.1 seconds clear of Lee Crawford and Scott Hardie.

At the end of the opening lap the Crowes had extended their lead to 20 seconds, which increased to 25 seconds by Ramsey and then 36.2 seconds at the end of the lap.

The Crowes posted the best-ever sector from the lap start to Glen Helen, and then again to Ballaugh, running more than five seconds inside lap record pace.

By this point, Birchall/Rosney had secured second place having pulled 6.4 seconds clear of Lewis Blackstock and Oscar Lawrence, who had stopped just after Barregarrow to make adjustments to their machine.

At the front, the Crowes continued to post record-breaking pace from Ballaugh to Ramsey and finished the race over a minute clear of the field.

Birchall/Rosney posted a personal best of the week in second, whilst Crawford/Hardie came home a further 17.3 seconds back in third. For Rosney, Crawford and Hardie it was time to celebrate their maiden TT podiums.

Todd Ellis and Emmanuelle Clement finished fourth, whilst Keiran Clarke and Andrew Johnson completed the top five onboard their Eddy’s Moto Tadcaster Yamaha CES.

Geroge Holden and Mark Wilkes finished sixth ahead of Steve and Matthew Ramsden, whilst Greg Lambert/Andrew Haynes and Robert Dawson/Matthew Sims completed the top 10.

The second Sidecar race at the 2025 Isle of Man TT is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 4 at 10:45am.
