Lavilla is sole factory Suzuki in World Superbikes

The team will continue to compete in the Superbike and Supersport series as a factory supported team, but with a slight change in personnel. Japanese rider Katsuyaki Fujiwara will continue in the Supersport class for 2002, gaining a new team-mate in Stephane Chambon, the diminutive Frenchman, who never quite got the results his talents deserved on a superbike.

Contesting the Superbike class will be Gregorio Lavilla. The 28 year-old Spaniard has had varied fortunes in the past with a best of 8th in the championship in 1998, but perhaps the chance to be in a one-man team may prove beneficial.
