Troy Bayliss continued his dominance of World Superbikes in both races at Kyalami. In race one, he overcame early challenges from Edwards, Ben Bostrom and Noriyuki Haga to head Edwards and Ruben Xaus on the podium, with Haga crashing out and Bostrom taking fourth.

Britains Neil Hodgson claimed fifth, with teammate James Toseland a creditable sixth place. The leading four-cylinder bike was seventh for the Kawasaki of Izutsu, with Chris Walker one place behind in eight.

Pier-Francesco Chili was forced to miss the race after an incident between him and Ruben Xaus during the morning warm-up session, in which the riders made contact.

In the second race, Bayliss again took victory leading from teammate Ruben Xaus. Edwards forced his way to third with a good move on Noriyuki Haga, which inspired Neil Hodgson and Ben Bostrom to fourth and fifth, demoting Haga to sixth.

Izutsu was again the leading four-cylinder machine, followed home by James Toseland, with Chris Walker ninth.

In the Supersport race, Andrew Pitt continued his winning form, leading Britain’s James Whitham across the line by 0.157 seconds, despite Whitham claiming the fastest lap. Frenchman Stephane Chambon had dropped back to third after challenging for the lead.
