Frankie out for Sugo

Frankie Chili has no chance of being fit for this weekend’s Japanese round of WSB at Sugo.

The NCR Ducati rider broke his collarbone in a clash with Ruben Xaus on the warm-up lap of race one in Phillip Island. He has undergone restorative surgery in Imola, but the Italian star faces an uphill battle to be fit for his home round in Monza on May 12.

Chili said; ” The doctors have told me that I could race this weekend. But I have decided to miss it, especially since the Sugo track is very tough. So I prefer to be fully fit for Monza. ”

Perhaps more of a worry for his cash-strapped team is the cost of rebuilding his 998, which was completely destroyed in the accident.
