Ben Bostrom has taken provisional pole in Germany, despite the best efforts of Brits Neil Hodgson and Chris Walker.

Bostrom qualified in front of Hodgson, Walker, Troy Bayliss and Ruben Xaus, despite two falls in the wet conditions.

Five riders fell in first qualifying, including World Champion Troy Bayliss. Rounding out the top ten were Steve Martin in sixth, Gregorio Lavilla in seventh, Pierfrancesco Chili eighth, Colin Edwards ninth, and Mauro Sanchini tenth.

Peter Goddard’s Benelli showed promise in eleventh, ahead of James Toseland in twelth, with Mark Heckles 22nd.

It was also a good day for the Brits in World Supersport. Aussie Chris Vermuelen was quickest, but he was followed by Iain MacPherson in second and James Ellison in third, with. James Whitham qualified in seventh with Rob Frost 26th.
