Chris Walker’s band aid

Chris Walker took a tip from the world’s toughest riders to help him combat the extreme heat at Misano.

Walker used an absorbent headband used by riders in the Paris-Dakar rally to try and reduce the amount of sweat running into his left eye, which he still can’t blink because of Bell’s Palsy.

He told MCN: " We haven't had any hot races since South Africa and this headband was recommended to me. "

It didn’t work as well as he hoped and instead returned to the novel solution he discovered in South Africa – panty liners inside his lid.
